  1. I believe if the distribution of cards falls as 
  2. expected that I will be able to make the contract
  3. by developing the eventual winners in spades.

  5. A double finesse in spades seems appropriate.

  7. Which side can get their suit developed first is
  8. the basic struggle between offense and defense.
  9.  
  10. When there are two missing cards in the suit and
  11. partner has the top card and two other honors, a
  12. double finesse is possible if you have two cards.
  13. Just lead your lowest card and play to beat
  14. second hand with the lowest honor.  Of course,
  15. whether you win or lose, run the finesse in the
  16. same direction again.
  17. The probabilities are:
  18. 25%, left hand will have both missing honors.
  19.      (You will take at least 3 tricks in suit) 
  20. 50%, the two missing honors will be split.
  21.      (You will take at least 2 tricks in suit)
  22. 25%, neither honor in the left hand.
  23.  (You will take 1 trick, the original ready cash)
